I miss Uruguay, I miss the people mostly. After that, I miss the food. Guizo, Tortas Fritas, Empanadas, Milinesas, Asada and dulce de leche. Right after my mission I made some quizo for Adam. He must have been in love with me to eat it because, well lets just say I have had better.
Lately I have made some tortas fritas, they are kind of a fry bread, scone type thing and they are wonderful. Thankfully they are easy to make. My neices and nephews like them and call them Ritas.
I asked my cousin down in Argentina a few weeks ago about an empanada recipe. I thought he would email it too me but instead I got a call the other day and got to talk to him and his wife. I even successfully avoided spanish. I need to brush up on that before they get home so it doesn't look like I have completely forgotten my mission.
Well we made the empanadas almost following the recipe. Maybe I made a few adjustments but Rhett said that would be ok. Here they are:

Wrapped in this salty dough
And fried to deliciousness 
I will make them again.
